Apple iPhone in Canada
The Apple iPhone will be coming to Canada on July 11th. It will be available with Rogers Wireless on a three year contact. The Canadian version of the Apple iPhone will be the much anticipated 3G version. It will be available with various wireless plans, all of which are much more expensive than those available in the United States. The base $75/month plan will include calling, text, and wireless browsing. There will be a 750MB cap on the data usage, unlike AT&T in the United States which offers unlimited browsing.
The Apple iPhone will only be available with Rogers on a three year contract, which is upsetting many Canadians.

Apple Macboook Air
Apple recently launched an ultra-thin notebook dubbed the “Macbook Air”. Apple says its ultra-thin, ultra-portable, and ultra unlike anything else. I would have to agree. The notebook incorporates the multi-touch functions of the iPhone and iPod Touch into the track-pad of the new laptop. This means you will be able to use features like pinching, to zoom in on a photo. The notebook features a 13.3″ widescreen display that is backlit by LEDs to conserve energy; this provides ultra-long battery life. Although the notebook itself is very small, the keyboard is still full size.
The only thing apple wasn’t able to shove into this paper thing computer was an optical drive. However, they developed a new solution wherein you can wireless access nearby computers optical drives should you ever need to use a CD or DVD.

Apple iPod Touch

I thought I would write a quick article about Apple’s new iPod Touch. The iPod Touch is essentially a full feature iPod but is also personal organizer, e-mail device, and internet browser. The device itself is very thin and small, and uses a touch screen. It comes in two different storage capacities of 8GB and 16GB, which is much smaller compared to most of Apple’s iPod lineup but is understandable given how small the device is.
The iPod Touch has lots of cool applications like Google Maps which lets you search for directions quickly and accurately when you have WiFi access. The latest version of the Maps application even lets you locate yourself through triangulation of WiFi access points! (It is actually kind of scary how accurate it is.) There are loads of cool games you can install on your iPod Touch if you choose to unlock it using the jailbreak application. Some great iPod Touch games are solitaire, blackjack, and Lights Off.
Overall I would highly recommend the purchase of an iPod touch if you are looking to combine a personal organizer, e-mail, and iPod into one device. I can easily check my e-mail when I’m out a restaurants with WiFi or surf the net in wireless enabled cafes. You can watch videos form the iTunes store or video podcasts on the iPhone when your on the bus, or listen to music while your going for a walk. You can buy an iPod Touch form most electronics retailers or online on apple’s website.
